Bariloche, Argentina, 23-27 September 2019
As we enter the ‘post-genomic era’, ‘genome-wide’ expression profiling methods at the level of the transcriptome and proteome have come to the fore. Whilst over recent years there has been a tremendous drive to develop analytical technology and databases for ‘transcriptomics’ and ‘proteomics’, integrative analysis strategies for this omic data has yet to emerge.
The main aim of the workshop is to provide tools to overcome this hurdle and allow students to truly focus on fully integrative aspects of organism ‘phenotype’. The practical course will focus on the use of bioinformatics tools in Linux environment. Assembling genomes, analysis of transcriptomic data of coding RNAs as well as specific tools for the analysis and discovery of small non-coding RNAs. Use of algorithms and specialized databases for analysis and identification of gene function.
The IMPAM-UBA-CONICET Server of the National System of High Performance Computing (SNCAD), ID 924/2014, will be used.
